Welcome from children
Visit to Namphak Primary School

We were all picked up from LEOT on a journey of about an hour to Namphuk Primary School to help with the first of two distributions that Education & Sharing had organised. We were to take school bags, notebooks, pens and paper for all 130 children at the school. The schools teachers were organising a fun day for all the pupils to include many great games for all the children. They had also kindly offered to give us all lunch.
The school is set just off the main road and is of a modern design built within the last ten years. The teachers and their charges were really excited to see us arrive.
It was a great afternoon and a real privilege to be able to share and understand the needs of schools like Namphak and the care and desire of  the team from  Education and Sharing to help make education better for the children.

Education & Sharing Volunteer

I am pleased that all of us at LEOT enjoyed our visit and are now in discussion with Education and Sharing on a project with them to take their support further. Funds have been found to buy books for the school and 150 were delivered only a week after our visit.

Book Delivery

The local village has Electricity but not the school. We also noticed that it was dark inside because money is not available to repaint.
We have now put together a plan to help fund the installation of electricity assisted by LEOT providing 90% of the cost and the village raising 10%.

In early 2015 we are organising a joint working party from the Village, Education and Sharing and LEOT to repaint the school interior over a weekend.

Our target is to work as closely as we can with the Lao community to develop community projects.

I hope this will be the first of many.
