As a small UK charity working in Laos days like this are very special.
We work with many students learning English in our school in Luang Prabang on a daily basis.
We also support a limited number of students in their studies at university.
To offer a sponsorship it is essential for us to find an individual that will offer to finance a student over a period of up to five years.
We heard of May just over three years ago. He came from a poor family in the Champasak district and was studying dentistry in Vientiane. His journey was hard as he studied all day and then worked to pay for food and his living costs. It was an impossible task.
We were so pleased when a LEOT sponsor came to his help and financed his costs so that he could concentrate completely on his studies.
